Brøndby IF was founded on December 3rd 1964 and played its first Super League match in 1982. In 1987, Brøndby IF was introduced on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and in doing so, doubled the world's number of publicly traded football clubs.

Club colours are blue and yellow.
